The Steele dossier represented the culmination of months of digging and probably millions of dollars spent by the DNC for oppo research. Now consider that it was also a steaming pile of fabricated nonsense. Surely if there was something substantive and bad in DJTs past that we didn’t already know about, it would have been front and centre in the dossier. Ergo: Trump is clean.

It's no different with his business. Guys that rich generally don't do illegal stuff when it comes to taxation. They definitely utilize every loop hole to pay less but they have almost zero reason to cheat. The savings don't amount to enough to make any difference in their lives.
You think his accounting firms are going to expose themselves to a huge Trump lawsuit if IRS/Tax Court tries to go after his tax position? No way — they will fight to the bloody end & probably have a small mountain of Private Letter rulings to protect the positions they took.
