California has a massive $384 billion pension fun, called CalPERS. Recently, a Chinese-born fund manager has been hired to run the fund. Mr. Hu Meng has increased investment in Chinese Communist Party backed defense, espionage, and spying firms.

Wall Street Journal with a positive spin on the California state subsidizing ChiComs and human rights abusers:

"He has been re-examining everything from how the pension benchmarks returns to how it should borrow against pension assets to clear the way for market wagers. He told board members in May that risk was more complex than many investors thought. Building on a review already under way, Calpers revamped the algorithm dictating what goes into its stock index portfolio, which holds $130 billion. This resulted in the removal of 143 stocks, including prison stocks that Calpers had drawn heat for and the addition of 198, nearly half of them Chinese companies."

State of California aiming for a too big to fail scenario, leading the charge to invest in paper-dragon China and then twist the arms of even their Republican representatives to support in Congress the preservation of any and all foreign entities whose fate is linked to their own pensioners.

I look forward to the Pikachu face meme within the next decade about this.
