"...vote based on gut feelings" that's kind of the point. The person makes the decision who they want to vote for. They don't get coerced to vote for someone based on peer pressure or force. "Educating them" is Socialist slang for "we threaten them to vote for our guy and barring that we make it so they have no choice".
They don't want elections, period. They want uprisings in the streets, a bunch of indoctrinated fools burning down the means of production, so that a mighty brash individual can control the movement, and the preceding government will simply hand over the reigns of control.
You know, like that guy in Germany did.
After that, by all means have "Elections", so you can claim he was elected into power.
