I used to work in downtown Portland. Literally every other Saturday--and I'm not even exaggerating, twice a freaking month wasn't uncommon--protests shut down the streets downtown. I worked at a building right in the center, and had to work Saturdays. It was soooo annoying to drive to work, only to find out I can't drive to my building, and must park several blocks away and pay for parking because fucking twats.
Or even worse was when I had a 5am shift and drove to work only to have the streets shit down after I already parked at work, blocking me forcing me to wait until 2 or 3pm before I could leave.
One of the last Saturdays I was in portland, they had a riot so bad that parking was free for a couple days because of the riots cost to local, small businesses. Imagine having to pay people to come back into the city
Exactly! I would try and tell my liberal coworkers that inconveniencing regular people doesn't further a cause. I said if people are protesting against someone/thing, they should go to that person's/organization's building. Not preach amongst eachother, who all already agree, while ruining the lives of other people they need to convince.
Most of their responses would be something like "but how else do you get people to notice???". Basically confirming liberals don't know how to get attention without throwing a temper tantrum like a baby
