I personally dont understand how people just video violence like this and stand idly by... (I know they are children here, and I understand some folks physically cant defend another person) But I also taught my children to stand up for those who cant stand up for themselves. If I can steal a line from all the adults in my life "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" I'd rather my kid take a whooping defending someone than stare at them getting beat up.
People stood by mostly out of shock, probably. Unless there’s some mental preparation ahead of time, that’s going to happen. The process in the brain goes something like:
Is this actually happening right now?
Is there a plan for this?
A no to number two always leads to panic and freezing as seen in videos like this. Sidenote, it seems messed up that someone just recorded it, but thanks to that person there’s evidence of a crime that is useable in court.
