Exactly! Exactly. There's nothing like letting them work up a good head of steam and then casually dropping in to point out that you've been observing for a while. Also, if anyone has the time, just generally sticking around and calmly refuting everything they say and not letting them get away with wild exaggeration and jolly camaraderie. (Works best in places where 'everyone is allowed to participate' bvut, in true liberal fashion, the left has taken over and just assumes it's their space. i.e. Yelp Talk Portland. OregonLive comment section, etc!)
I don't engage lengthy shit anymore (apart from here). Life's short. I just give them the reminder they're observed and put out an advertisement for this site - which if they haven't seen it before - will cause them to go bonkers.
