As a longtime NRA member I shocked and disappointed in the lack of information I have received from the NRA regarding what is going on in Virginia. It seems like I receive weekly NRA Alerts on everything else going on.

GOA has a news article about it. Even better they have a link where Virginians can Urge their Sheriff to Reject Northam's Gun Control Proposals. https://gunowners.org/va1262019/

Also a link to Virginians Citizens Defense League. https://www.vcdl.org/

Big Rally planned by them in Jan 20, 2020.

Thanks for the info!

Knew about the VCDL - great source for finding out what is going on.

Civil war bout to kick off in Virginia and barely a peep.

Governor attempting to remove citizens constitutional RIGHT. RIGHT, not privilege. Fairly sure the Constitution even has instructions on what should be done about such tyrannical governments.

That's what I don't get either. There's nothing about it out there, I see this here and something on fakebook about it but it's not complete. So I really don't know what's going on with it. Not sure if they passed something or are talking about something or it's all just made up bullshit.

They have several Bills that are likely to pass because the Northern VA area is now immigrants and government workers. There was a map on FB that showed the area that is all Dem up near DC, and most of the rest of the state is not. Those cities voted in Dems, who immediately decided to confiscate most semi-automatic guns, certain clips, etc. Also, they want to ban anyone from training anyone else in gun usage. There is a draconian list of bans in these Bills that apply to pistols as well as ARs.

we can keep running, but eventually we're gonna have to fight back.

Declaration of Independence covered it very well - for what to do when governments become tyrannical

We aren’t taking this lying down either, 90+ 2A Sanctuaries now. We will not comply.

Quit the NRA, join GOA or some other organization that isn't infiltrated.

I paid them $25 for a "free" duffel bag in 2014. They won't stop calling me. The bag is poor quality too. Much regret, very oof.

GOA (Gun Owners of America) really has been punching above their weight class. If you haven't already, check them out on Instagram and social media, and consider donating. They truly are no-compromise. NRA is bought out by big gun manufacturers.

Now that you mention it...

11
ProudAmerican 11 points ago +14 / -3

Maybe they don’t want this kind of attention so civil war doesn’t become their countenance.

Once Oliver North got involved I will realized something was amiss there. Swampy as fuck

They should at least let their members know what is going on, what are the governor and legislators planning, what bills are they preparing, when the 2A sanctuary meetings are, etc. They notify me about everything else going on. This is just strange.

ProudAmerican 6 points ago +7 / -1

I’m not a member, but if I were, I’d ask them why. Have you tried that approach yet?

8
spez_this [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes, I went to their site and sent them a message. I haven't heard back yet - probably because it is the weekend. I am hoping to hear from other NRA members here to see if they know anything.

7
ProudAmerican 7 points ago +8 / -1

I’m interested to see what, if any, reply you get on the matter. If you have time, make a post as soon as you have an update.

spez_this [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

FYI, I just received their reply today...

My message: "If you are not aware, our 2'nd amendment rights are under attack here in Virginia. As a member of the NRA, why have I not received any notifications or advice regarding this matter? What is the NRA doing to protect our rights?"

Their reply: "Thank you for contacting the NRA-ILA. We encourage you to sign up for our NRA-ILA alerts. We will continute to oppose gun control efforts in the 2020 legislative session."

Note that I am already signed up for NRA alerts and receive them all of the time.

A lot of gun clubs require NRA membership. I don't know why, but they do.

$1 = one dollar

$2 = two dollars

$! = much dollars

NRA has just had a big fight over its governance. If the guy who got those wonderful ads is out, that might explain the silence.

GOA. gun Ownerz of America

Boomerang 8 points ago +9 / -1

They [NRA] are afraid of getting roped in and associated with something that the MSM would likely smear as militia movements - like they smeared them back when citizen militias rose up under Clinton when his AG oversaw the massacre of 80 people (mostly women and children) at Waco, TX. And then tarred them with being responsible for the OKC bombing (when was a false flag op).

The NRA is too cautious to become too visible with citizens actually defending their constitutional rights when tyrants are on the verge of stripping them of those rights.

Threats drum up $$$$$ for the NRA. The NRA loves it when the 2A is in imminent danger.

boy that's the understatement of the decade!

6
Americanmiddleclass 6 points ago +6 / -0

They are just letting Democrats dig their own graves.

4
OhLollyLollyPop 4 points ago +4 / -0

Maybe actually digging them before they are shoved in. It will only take one flame to set off the war, and the Patriots in Virginia will get plenty of help if the Governor dares move against them.

Kane 6 points ago +9 / -3

The NRA is cucked

So, you have received NRA Alerts regarding the events happening in Virginia, because I haven't.

BTW, how can you call this fake news - can you see my inbox?

1
Yawnz13 1 point ago +4 / -3

Why should they have to see your inbox? You claimed that the NRA is "strangely silent", yet ignore days-old publications by them on the matter. Literal fake news.

2
spez_this [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Read my message. I get regular "NRA Alerts" about all other gun-related events and legislation, but nothing related to the recent events in Virginia.

-1
Yawnz13 -1 points ago +2 / -3

Maybe you need to read better then.

Or, you know, go looking for it.

Again, you claimed that they were "strangely silent". An article two days old proved you wrong.

You are fake news.

3
spez_this [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Say, a university creates an alert system using contact information for all of its students. And, the university periodically send out alerts like, "Due to an electrical outage all classes in the art building are cancelled today."

Then, say, there is a fire in the math building, forcing classes to be cancelled. However, the university doesn't send out an alert. Instead, they post an article about the fire on their website. As a math student I would wondering why I wasn't alerted. Has my class been cancelled or relocated? For how long? If I claimed that it was strange that the university did not send an alert about this would that make me fake news?

Agree. They bother you for money , constantly, even though you're a member - they should be alerting folks to this crap.

4
not_a_shill 4 points ago +4 / -0

I guess they were bribed by Soros as well. Can trust anyone. I mean when was the last time NRA fought for our right to own machine guns?

3
ronburgandy 3 points ago +3 / -0

They literally never have. They allowed the NFA, and then on top of that told Reagan to sign FOPA with Hughes on there saying they would repeal it later: 33 years later they haven't made a single solitary attempt to repeal the hughes amendment.

Dude... Go to vcdl.org

That is why NRA is silent. The VCDL is crushing it with zero news coverage.

I cannot wait for all of the lawsuits to come out of this.

They sure as hell communicate when they need money though.
