The taxes are way too high here and my rent for my small 400sq ft. studio apt is over $1200/mo. The homeless problem is getting worse by the day and it’s gotten to the point there are homeless people living in my apartment laundry room. The liberals all around me are starting to get on my nerves as well. I’ve been wanting to move to either Texas (or Nevada) for awhile now but I think it’s time I finally make the move. Can any Texas pedes recommend a part of Texas I can start my search for apartments?

Think you need to give some more info. Like, what field do you work in? What kind of area do you want to live in (big/small city, out in the country). Why specifically do you like Texas? What are your interests? Etc.

I'm a freelance illustrator so I work from home. Coming from a big city, I suppose something to help with the transition would be best for me. So, maybe a mid to large city? I'm not too sure. I don't know too much about Texas, to be honest. I just know that I want to get the hell out of this blue state and go where I won't get raped with taxes.

Take a week vacation and go visit a few cities. I wouldn’t just get a lease somewhere you’ve never been.
