Well, if comes down to it, there are a total of 7,500 national guard members in VA.

Al least half of those won't betray their country, so that brings us down to a measley 3,500 Benedict Arnolds, at most.

Meanwhile,.Virginia is the 5th most-armed state in the US with the last count I could find (pre-Christmas orders) at 307, 822 guns in the hands of its citizens.

Oh, and don't forget about backup from neighboring states. The Blue Mountain boys always love a good target practice. ;)

There are a further 2,118 State Police, as well as 340 independent law enforcement agencies across Virginia, with a total of 23,000 sworn police officers.

This comes out to 293 officers for every 100,000 residents. And 1/3 of the population owns guns, many of them multiple firearms. Most, actually, if you go by the stats.

So that would put us at about 300 military/paramilitary per 33,000 armed citizens across Virginia. The armories are spread out, about 400 of them.

The numbers don't look good for the governor.

Thing is, they'll pick the gun owners off one at a time. Being independent minded is great but prickly personalities are at a disadvantage facing an organized mass.
