Many states now have “extreme risk protection orders” or something to that effect. Basically your wife, co-workers, kids, uncle, or whoever, can call the police, claim that you’re dangerous, get in front of a judge, and pitch their “I’m afraid of him and he has guns” speech. That judge can, without any deliberation of a jury of your peers, issue an ERPO that requires you to surrender all firearms you own and bars you from buying new ones until your case is settled in court. Failure to comply is against the law. This sneaky shit is where they are going to get owners. Not kicking doors with the national guard.
