I now agree this is the best move. At first I thought it would be an opportunity to bring rebuttal witnesses but it's not the Senate's job to build a case. It's the House's job and they delivered a turd which should be dismissed outright.
Absolutely agree; anyhing but an outright dismissal of the charade would lend it false credibility. If someone reads a fairy-tale to you, pretending it is real and trying to debate them about it's fictional merits is not the right answer.
This has been my road as well. At first, I felt like they should fight the case they weren't allowed to fight in the house so that between the two they had a fair hearing, but have changed my mind. Any continuing of it just gives it legitimacy. It should be dismissed as quickly as feasible for being completely insufficient as a case as well as illegitimate as an impeachment process.

Refuse the minority party any witnesses, hold some hearings in secret, call Pedo Joe, Shit for Brains, Pelosi, Crackhead Biden, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Barry, all of them to testify under oath.
Charge any of them that even breathe wrong.
