Hmm. That gives me an idea (which I'm putting here mostly for bookmarking purposes). The Internet Archive uses a multi-doc splitter to create several documents from any upload. Files that are compatible with e-readers, kindles etc - including txt files.
They even have a text to speech option in their viewer for the vision-impared / blind.
I'll upload the PDF - i've only noted a slight amount of smear from their scanners (seriously good lord - someone in purchasing get a new one) compressing a couple of lines here and there - but the OCR on IA should be able to handle it no-sweat.
