I'm sorry, you are one of the few Californians who didn't vote for Democrats. When discussing this with other freelancers who are affected, make sure you put the blame squarely on those who thought they were "fixing" stuff.
It didn't really kill vox jobs so much as it forced vox to drop their contracts with independent journalist who live in california. Now they just contract with independent journalist outside the state of California. Overall though thousands of independent journalist who live in California are soon to be out of a job because of this new law.
The very media that encouraged them to put leftist virtue signaling of leftist-haves, attack other people that question the narrative in any way. They were stepping out in drag and stepping over the homeless to get to their big city rave club after work-- only later to find that the lefts' line for who will be homeless, is drawn way above them.
Womp womp! These people most likely voted on AR5. No sympathy. Learn to code!

Will you be ok given the 35 submissions/yr cutoff?
Person A: I would like to pay you for some work
Person B: I would like to do that work and receive that pay
Person A: Ok I would like you to do this work and I will give you this pay
Person B: Ok I will do this work and receive this pay
Person A: Ok it is agreed you will do this work for the agreed pay
Person B: Yes it is agreed I will do the work and receive the pay
California: ::kickflips in:: Not so fast!
Nah, I bet the authors who championed the law were not freelancing. Less competition for the actual employees now.
It's never about the greater good for them. It's always protectionism for the unioned employee.
That's an excellent point.
Vox commits suicide, unlike Epstein
Learn to code, you drivel-spewing leftists!

Atleast the enemy of the people are funny!
It seems as though writing articles about vegan cat yoga doesn't produce enough value to merit a full-time salary. What a travesty!
Just like those people who pushed for mass immigration into Europe and are now regretting it.
How can you be that dumb?
Because the future doesn't exist in their eyes...just an eternal "now".
"What position can I take on this issue will make me feel the most righteous and good in this moment?"
poetic justice, comic karma, etc
Congratulations to all of these future coding boot camp graduates!
What do you mean? I know people who went the boot camp route to employment.
Womp womp
Good
What is the reasoning behind this? How does it benefit California to get rid of ICs and demand that everyone has to have employee status?
It must benefit the state, not the workers, or they wouldn't be doing it.
Probably Payroll taxes. A lot of ICs don’t pay em, even though they should. It’s easier to enforce on a larger company than a guy at the coffee shop

I hope these guys go to Syria and get diversified.
Lern 2 kode
AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
If only there was something else they could learn to do? ?
