Spamming the comments section is a new tactic here where people are abusing the free platform to link to sites from a business standpoint. It’s against the rules for a reason and not so much because people cite infowars in their posts. There’s no advertising here so the speech doesn’t become tainted. Allowing other businesses to come here to promote themselves will not be tolerated. This is why the rule exists. Please tell me you see the big picture. This site won’t become a digital version of a coupon booklet you get in the mail.

The self promotion rule exists to prevent the comments section and posts from becoming one big advertising platform for other sites or blogs. This platform is free to you, but not free. It’s been paid for by another and they will preserve the site in their image.

If you check it out joyinliberty comments you’ll see a few times where a link was given to a personal site. It’s a harmless crowd tracker, but still against the rules. This is the growing problem. Also, notice the link was not included this time because there was more than likely a warning given.
They get deported fairly rapidly, but next time you see links in the comment section, go to that persons comment history. Sometimes you will find they have dozens of the same comment with a link to the same place. Again, I agree that the method in which boricua is obtuse, but there is a growing problem with exactly what he’s claiming. You have to see it in real time and I’m not scouring thousands of comments to provide a screen name.

What he’s referring is using the comments section in tons of posts with the ulterior motive of getting people to go to a particular site. These sites make money off traffic so it makes sense to get as many people as you can. Using this FREE platform is a way to advertise on the back of another. If we don’t point the finger when we see it happening, there will be tons of paid shills abusing the creators of this site who only want the dissemination of ideas and opinions.

Here’s the analogy for all you that don’t understand why the self promotion rule exists: Let’s say you want to have a party for all your friends. You buy all kinds of food and alcohol so they can enjoy the party without spending any money. All your friends show up and head to the bar only to find that the local liquor store owner got there first, took all the free alcohol and is now selling it to your guests. Then the local grocery store owner sees what’s happening and gathers up all the free food and starts selling it to your guests. This is what we are preventing here by not allowing self promotion on a site which you enjoy for free because someone else already paid for it.
