Well cornered rats don't really act logically. Nor is an adherence to logic a great way to corner yourself in the first place. So they are dumb panicky people doing dumb panicky things. Has there been a coherent strategy from the dems in the last 3 years? playing dressing up like children, reeing at the sky, screeching at empty car parks? all factions dominated by the craziest and most awful people in politics? These people arent winners and they dont have cards left to play which i think is why folks like Bloomberg are activating at this late hour to try and salvage what they can rather than just stay lurking as a shadowy financial influencer in the party.
For Trump, the midterms was everything since senate control means judge appointment can suddenly go ahead without obstruction, and because the end-game for the dems that we see playing out now was always on the cards.. which the senate can toss out. As the dem senate did with Bills impeachment, this is not a partisan issue.
The judicial vacancies and deepstate craters are filled which unlocks the DOJ under Barr to do their thing, and they have a strengthened supreme court position (to be even better as Weekend at Ginsburg's plays its final showing) so that's the prosecution piece and the appeals piece all aligned with MAGA.
If you thought Trump was dominant in 2016, what will his position be now with 4 amazing years of success under his belt and with his opponents in disarray. There may not be a democratic party left when this is all said and done.
