So, we've framed this up to have the idea that the Senate's investigation into the articles of impeachment should be long and drawn out. Witnesses after witnesses, up to and including Hunter Biden and Eric Ciaramella are called forth to testify. Democrats are implicated in the very crimes that they have accused Trump of, and this also prevents Sanders and Warren from campaigning since they'll be stuck in the Senate trial. After the facts are presented, the indictments fall like a stack of bricks. Perp walks, trials with crappy sketches, prison mugshots, media coverage, the full floor show.

Then you have Lindsey Graham on the other end of the corner saying that the Senate trial should be as short as possible. When you hope for what was mentioned above, this is a huge letdown. Many think it's so that his own entanglements and past crimes don't get inadvertently uncovered when others are called to account for their various crimes. This is very possible and I'm not discounting this in any way, but I think he makes a point for a very pragmatic reason.

Think of the average (non TDS-addled) American and the 24 hour news cycle. The one thing for the last several months that most Americans have heard about is impeachment. "I want to hear about the USMCA or other issues that actually matter to me in my local area", they say. "No, all you get is impeachment. Impeachment yesterday, impeachment today, and impeachment tomorrow", says the 24-hour legacy media.

This is happening to the point that people are sick of hearing about it. We know they are because the percentage of people who don't support impeachment are 7-8% higher than Trump's approval rating in the aggregate. This impeachment business has become a dirty diaper that no sane politician doesn't want to be around. By dragging on impeachment, the Democrats have hemorrhaged support from anywhere that isn't an urban area. The polls show it, especially in battleground states where Trump has pulled ahead compared to EVERY Democrat currently in the field.

The best thing Trump could have hoped for was to goad them into impeachment proceedings and to drag it out as long as possible to make the dims look hyper-partisan, unfair, and totally insane. He got that. Now the ball is in the Senate's court, which the people know is ran by Republicans. The best thing they can do at this point is unceremoniously shut it down, rush a vote to acquit, and let America move on with their lives.

I agree, I think everyone is seriously fatigued over this, and the sooner this dog is put out to pasture the better. Plus a quick dismissal sends the message that it was a sham impeachment the whole time.

I can see the logic in dismissing ASAP, and the impeachment fatigue that the American public is suffering, though I lean towards the "let's give them a healthy dose of their own medicine" camp.

That said, I think we'll get our perp walks, court sketches and prison sentences, or at least hope we will, since Durham and Barr have been adding many of the same names that we'd all like to see grilled in a Senate impeachment hearing to criminal investigations anyway.

They should bring in Hunter Biden and Eric Ciaramella to testify for their investigation into corruption entirely unrelated to impeachment.

A Senate dismissal won't result in Congress getting back to working for the people. First of all, they were never doing that to begin with. Second of all, a quick dismissal will result in the DS/Dems/MSM/pop culture figures bleating on and on about how Trump avoided justice because the corrupt Repubs have a majority in the Senate. And thirdly, the House will just launch Coup 3.0., Coup 4.0 . . . Coup 2.0 has to be thoroughly destroyed/exposed to put an end to the b.s. before it carries on into Trump's 2nd term.

Nothing is ever going to change unless the truth comes out. A Senate dismissal doesn't accomplish that. I want to see Hunter, CIAramella, Schiff, Chalupa, No Malarkey etc., etc. all get grilled. The Senate trial doesn't necessarily have to drag on to expose the lies. Then the Congress can get back to doing the Lord's work. /s

The main reason the Republicans don't want a trial with witnesses is that it will open up all the corruption that they themselves are part of (the swamp). Graham is just as dirty as the others and doesn't want the light to shine on the particularly stagnant areas of the swamp.

Concur.

The Senate can quickly and clearly say "The adults are in the this room, and we're taking your ball away, Nancy. Fuck you, sit down, and stop wasting the American people's time and money."

45 wants the witnesses. 45 is president, this is 45s community, and so I, and the rest of the community ought to stand behind what the president wants.

So who cares what Lindsey and Mitch want. this constant shilling for Mitch and and Lindsey in this site has gotten me awfully suspicious about what’s going on on .win. I’ve been monitoring this debate and it seems like this site is full on shills for Let It Go.

I’m starting to think it’s infested with the rino trolls

What do you do, if your are subjected to a bad-faith, abuse-of-process lawsuit?

  1. You seek a motion to dismiss for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.

  2. With that result in hand, you file your own suit for abuse of process, and the other side's loss is part of your evidence of bad faith.

We all know that the Democrats pulled every dirty trick they could think of to milk the "impeachment" "process," mainly because they could not prove a high crime or misdemeanor by DJT. It's time to put a stop to that mess, and get the end result.

What happens next? We go after the case for abuse of process, with the Senate result in hand, that shows the bad faith prosecution of the Dems.

Lindsey Graham has already requested documents and things related to Joe Biden's interactions with Ukraine.

Graham has also invited Rudy Giuliani to present his findings about corruption in Ukraine. That information, along with the termination of the impeachment case, is evidence for the abuse of process case.

Attorney General Barr has been traveling overseas with US Attorney Durham to investigate the origin of the Trump-Russia fiasco as a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION.

The FBI has to report to us the results of their review of all the behavior of the players in the Carter Page FISA cases, as the IG has recommended.

The IG has expanded its FISA abuse investigation, to cover all FISA applications, in view of the many irregularities in the first four cases.

The object of the Democrats is to tie up the Senate. They would do any thing to stop the Senate from approving more Judges. McConnell showed that the Senate's big contributions is seating as many judges as possible and he will make sure that nothing gets in the way of a full MAGA Judiciary.

People are sick of seeing the the deep state get away with everything and no one being held accountable for sedition. The guilty need to be held accountable and sent to jail or executed. The swamp still needs to be drained. The impeachment proceedings are like a giant toilet plunger Democrats have handed Republicans and the GOP would be negligent not to take full advantage.
