Can't the Senate overrule her? Simply say "Screw you, we're moving ahead, regardless of your childish little snit!"?

What would be the benefit to them for withholding it?

As others have said...this obstruction of the Senate is a clear case of quid pro quo and abuse of power.

The object of the Impeachment is to stop the Senate from approving more judges. The Dems want a long process to impede the Senate.

They will continue to investigate, rather than turn everything over to the Senate. Once the impeachment articles are in the hands of the Senate, two things might happen. Either Trump will be very quickly acquitted, or a long Senate trial that calls witnesses that are harmful to democrats and their narrative(lies).

If they pass the impeachment articles but hold on to them, they may continue negative propaganda against Trump, in further investigations.

Personally, I think Trump should exercise his power to call congress into session until those articles are presented to the senate properly.

Maybe the play will be to withhold until after the 2020 election. If they flip the senate and loose the house they then can immediately remove the President. With a ready set of Impeachment Articles.

They will probably start in again on New Impeachment in the New Year.

The State Of the Union Address is going to be interesting.

Since they Impeached him will Pelosi allow him to give the Address. Will the narrative be he is illegitimate as he has been impeached.

Not an election year for the Senate. They're there until 2025.

One third of the Senate seats are up for election every two years. The Senators serve for six years and the terms are staggered so that only one third face the voters every two years.
