How do they function on a daily basis? We had to take US history, civics, and Americanism vs Communism classes to graduate.

Yeah, remember that in their minds, you have to proven your innocence, rather than them proving your guilt.

The fact that I know more about the American system than some Americans do really saddens me.

That makes no sense. The brain can group the whole thing as one chunk, so the order is absolutely irrelevant.

I’m pretty sure our military uses D/M/Y format. It is purely aesthetically, and D/M/Y starts from smallest unit of time and moves up.

Knowing the month but not the day also ‘does nothing’ according to you, because you need both data points to know the date, with knowing the year also being absolutely critical to knowing the specific date.

1
WinstonSmith1984 1 point ago +1 / -0

military uses something like yyyy-mm-dd HHmmss

M/D/Y is retarded to anyone not in the U.S.

>M/D/Y is retarded to anyone not in the U.S.

Yes and the concept of big metal airplanes was literally retarded to anyone not in the US as well.

You're probably well aware that America has invented a LOT of shit your people could never in all of history make sense of on your own, including the internet you're using right now.

Literally one exception in history and his inventions were treated as toys, lol. Our way of doing things is retarded though, sure.

YMD or DMY is the mathematically correct way to do it. In order of significance.

If you sort MDY assuming the date is ordered by significance you wont get chronological order.

Imagine if your calendar had a page for the year then in that page 31 boxes and then in those boxes the months.

For simple display purposes though it varies in importance.

#/#/# becomes a problem because the day and month can be ambiguous if the day is less than 13. Originally people would name the month so you would know.

KiltedTailor 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or has a US military background, thats the way I still write my dates .

1

My first ID actually had my wrong birth date, and it sucked having to correct it because there was an 8month difference in alcohol eligibility!

Woah. I thought the shitpost about them expecting the President being removed ... were shitposts.

Holy shitposts. They really set themselves up for crushing disappointments with their crushing stupidity don't they?

I delight in their stupidity sometimes.

I wish I could. It both saddens and worries me.

In all fairness that's the reason I said sometimes. Sometimes I wonder if they should be allowed to use a stove.

It will be Hillary. She was runner-up in the election, so now that Drumpf is impeached she gets to step in. You know, like the first runner-up in the Miss America contest "if the winner is unable to fulfill the duties." Right after the first of the year.

Oh goodness, I just realised there is gonna be another dose of salt from Twitter/reddit/facebook screen caps of uneducated TDS-sufferers, when they realise Trump is still their president for another 5 years.

I just consumed all the salt from the U.K. elections, this might be a lethal dose!

Muhahahaha Enjoy his 2nd term!

3
pyropulse209 3 points ago +3 / -0

Wow, these people are so stupid. I was called an idiot for saying impeachment doesn’t remove a president from office, because it still has to go to the Senate. It’s akin to an arraignment.

2
JustAnotherTrumpGuy 2 points ago +2 / -0

People are so dumb. He can still run a second term folks

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even if the Senate voted to impeach him (they won't), he can still run again unless they vote to block him from doing so (separate vote).

Nancy was telling the truth when she was resisting her base before impeachment. Impeachment doesn't mean he gets removed and that's that. It's a SOLEMN™ process

I do have a question about impeachment. This strikes to me as it should be a judicial branch call, but yet the legislative branch is making these calls (hence the monkey circus). Why is that?

I would like a better answer than "because it's in the Constitution". I want the logic behind it which is fuzzy to me.

2
OhLollyLollyPop 2 points ago +2 / -0

The Legislative branch controls creation of laws, voting for the budgets, etc of the Executive branch. The Executive branch is essentially the executor of the actions of the Legislative branch. The President is basically the CEO, and they are the Board of Directors.

The SCOTUS only oversees all the other federal courts and renders decisions as to the Constitutionality of lower court matters. In rare cases they can also step in on an emergency basis, like staying an execution.

All are supposed to follow the Constitution and Bill of Rights to do anything.

OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, rhey could and there is nothing to stop it.

I thought SCOTUS could get involved and end this, too until I read this article. It's not short, but it explains a lot about what is going on.

The Senate could just vote to acquit if they want, so McConnell is wrong when he says they have to have a trial.

https://www.thepostemail.com/2019/12/22/scotus-no-articles-of-impeachment-or-a-trial-are-required-for-the-senate-to-acquit-president-trump/

2
RU_joe_king 2 points ago +2 / -0

The SCOTUS Chief Justice presides over the trial in the Senate, I believe that is the extent of their involvement.
