Is there any mechanism of demanding voter ID in the USA, that Trump is even at all involved in?
Voting requirements are decided by the state right? And then to enact some sort of federal "requirement" or "minimum standard" that includes ID, I'd imagine it has to pass the House and Senate.
Then the states will fight it in court.
So unless Trump can do this via executive order (which would still be fought in court) this is a battle that will take years.
We’ve got to push for it at a state level. We need to get involved in our local political positions and fight hard. Every state; before they are flooded by illegals, blue voting immigrants, and democrat plants running for office. Not to sound dire but we’re near the 11th for the Union itself to be saved. If not I think secession and Balkanization is the more likely outcome as political ideology at the Capital becomes more and more extreme, unfortunately .
I know NC now finally has photo ID requirements to vote. Requires a government issued photo ID when doing ANY voting. Including absentee! You have to send a photocopy of your ID when absentee voting.
This is very true. There is no such thing as a federal election in this country, only state elections which pick representatives to the federal government. If POTUS were to issue an executive order which forced states to require a Real ID for all voters it would be immediately struck down by the courts, and I honestly wouldn't blame them. I don't really like the idea of the president unilaterally changing rules about who is and isn't a valid voter, no matter how dangerous voter fraud is. It's an extremely dangerous precedent
