Hmm! I may be wrong, some one check for me, but did we not use tanks at Waco, or some such place? And I recall tanks being used during the Anti War Protests of the 1960's Nothing got united.
Having lived thru the Era you write of; I agree they were mad &tc., but not united. Let me hoe thru my memory. The Black Panthers, The Black Communist Party, and perhaps a dozen more. They did not get what they wanted, in circa 1960, a Black HomeLand in America. Instead, they got Integration, at the point of a National Guard Bayonet
They did, as Koresh had stated that he had weapons capable of destroying unarmored vehicles and Bradleys. Nevermind the meme that is Waco and how ridiculous it is to compare that to the current issue.
