Makes me wonder if they are hoping they’ll win the Senate in 2020 and are holding on to the impeachment articles in the hope they can remove him after the election.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but like any legislation, the Articles of Impeachment would expire at the end of the current (116th Congress) term. They’d have to reintroduce them and vote again in the next Congress.
