I’m interested in knowing if the quoted passages reflect the philosophy of the text, or if they are simply expressing one point of view, and the opposing view is expressed in other adjacent passages as the publisher claims.
How about you actually read the article instead of commenting off the headline?
There's two whole pages of context right in the article, it's even underlined in highlighter. It's literally the first thing on the page underneath the headline.
I did read it, and it’s apparent you did not. The section you reference shows one view only, the view that most of us find disturbing.
If you read the entire article, including the editor’s response and external references, then you would be aware of the claim that the book is intended to inspire ‘constructive debate’ by introducing opposing views on these topics.
Now go back, read it again, slowly so you can comprehend, then come back here and apologize to me and politely ask for my forgiveness.
Zinn is super important once you have been raised on overly magical patriotic bullshit about how Washington was a god and Lincolns farts never smelled and how dare you ever question authority, etc.
However, to drop Zinn on kids who dont understand the bounty our system has produced for them and for the world, that every nation is a tale of horror and scandal, Zinn is basically an invitation to self hatred, isolation, and anxiety.
Yeah, from the same people that claim that transgenderism is perfectly normal.
I'm so glad we didn't use the public school system for our kids - they need to be called out and held accountable for this nonsense.
I'm much more angry at the other comments. That comment about mental health didn't say he was mentally ill but that others questioned him
now what it did say was 'not very hidden racism''
Educators can jam it in their jamholes.

Da fuq?!
Pearson. Did they give Obama a big book contract after he awarded them the Common Core contract?
What to do what to do?
