"As messed up as it sounds, people don’t act on their beliefs, they act depending on how they believe they’re supposed to act. Based on what they think the norm is. There’s a good episode of the podcast Invisibilia called The Other Real World where they talk about how the UN funded a TV reality show in Somalia specifically as a norm-changing mission to fight fundamentalist terrorists on a cultural level. Norm-changing is a known strategy that works very well, not because people really buy in to the propaganda, but because they see their neighbors spewing propaganda and have a primal urge to fit in"
This little back-n-forth! So precious!:
"It is our responsibility to recognize that anyone, on this platform or others, might be acting dishonestly. However, it is also important to not blame all opposition or dissenting views on “Russians trying to divide us.” Social media sites contain a multitude of diverse, legitimate opinions, and we should not allow actual Russian interference to diminish the legitimacy of views we disagree with."

"The world is flat
Obama is a secret Muslim
9-11 was an inside job
The Caravan
Pizza Parlor Pedo Death Cults
Impeachment is a politically motivated and unconstitutional hit job by radical leftists
I mean, come on. Many of the bullshit “views” we disagree with are not legitimate. What Russian (and likely other) interference has done and can do is magnify some of the seemingly less crazy but still fantastic “views” and magnify them while lending them a veneer of legitimacy.
It is really important to call out the bullshit and interference for what it is. It is also important to acknowledge that there are a multiplicity of legitimate political opinions on many topics. However, don’t take it too far and just assume that any dissenting view is legitimate, interference or not."
(BTW, level 6 <-- what's this fresh garbage? 'level6'? Not visible on Reddit page. Secret rating of Redditors. How fucking dumb. But even I found it by copying and pasting. ugh, please send us smarter opponents, Deep State! Plus, nice list a bunch of discredited noise and include some real shit you're afraid people will believe. I did that when I was 24 and new to the game. So sad. So dewy fresh!)
