That's right. The left just can't wait and have to force people to change when that change will happen anyway but at a more cost effect way and once all/may of the bugs are worked out. Just like electric cars. It'll happen, it is happening, just not fast enough for the crazies. Once they have the battery tech cheap enough, safe enough and long lasting enough people will naturally transition to the new tech. Now if we can just figure out how not to burn coal to create that electricity...

...and are filled with toxic chemicals which have become a disposal nightmare! This is typical of Dems, thinking that radical changes NEVER have negative unintended consequences.

LED lights have come a long way. I used to hate them because they were all this really harsh bright white. That's okay in some settings, but in most rooms in a home, it doesn't look right. Now LED has so many more options with more warmth to the light. Personally I won't be going back to incandescent. I don't think people should be prevented from buying them though, if they wish.

There is still reason to hate them. I am a recording engineer, and have to turn off all the LED bulbs when recording quiet sources because of the EMI they emit. I started noticing a rhythmic "clicking" whenever some LED bulbs were turned on. I am noticing a surge in RFI/EMI in densely populated areas over the last several years, my hypothesis is that LED light bulbs (and wi-fi devices) are main contributors. It is possible that it is harmless, but see my comment above about unintended consequences.

Incandescent is better. It produces a better glow. We have LED streetlights and if you’re not adjusted to them (for instance if you just got back from camping) you can see how harsh of a light it truly is.

False! That's what we in the industry now refer to as "Cool White." There's also "Warm White," which, when you buy a good brand, is nearly indistinguishable from traditional incandescent mini bulbs.

Now, I will grant you that it took them YEARS to manage to get White LED Light to be able to mimic incandescent bulb light. But now it's my go-to choice for everything from home lighting to Christmas. Head on down to your local Walmart, if they're as good as I am at the one I work at, they'll have Sample Boards hung up near their Christmas Lights, with samples of every kind and color of Christmas Light they have available. You'll be able to see Warm White just a small distance away from Incandescent, and tell for yourself.

What irks me is that I used to be able to buy incandescent light bulbs dirt cheap. A four-pack costs one dollar. Now the same four-pack of LED light bulbs with all the over-the-top gizmos like wi-fi costs 64 bucks. LED light bulbs also don’t last as long as they claim. So in the long run, it costs more.

Give the consumers choices. Trump is doing the right thing once again.

Pretty sure the Staunch Conservative Gerge W. Bush put in place the first reguation limiting or ending production of incandescent bulbs.

Vaguely remember Rino Fred Upton pushed it in congress at the time.

I like LED now that they work well and last longer at an affordable price. Amazing -the Free Market at work!

I’m all LED now and have never had one blow out so guess I’m good for awhile.

LED lights flicker, only some people can notice, but a larger group gets headaches and doesn't understand why.

Pull out you phone and film your LED light in slow motion. Even your LED Christmas lights.

Old LEDs will also hum because the electronics in the base degrade before the diode fails.
