There is still reason to hate them. I am a recording engineer, and have to turn off all the LED bulbs when recording quiet sources because of the EMI they emit. I started noticing a rhythmic "clicking" whenever some LED bulbs were turned on. I am noticing a surge in RFI/EMI in densely populated areas over the last several years, my hypothesis is that LED light bulbs (and wi-fi devices) are main contributors. It is possible that it is harmless, but see my comment above about unintended consequences.
