He's worth over a hundred million dollars.
He was paid 40 million from Netflix for his last comedy special, Humanity, in 2018, paid another 40 for his new special, Supernature, which he is currently touring worldwide. Netflix will air it once he's done touring.
....and.... he just wrapped up taping the second season of his new series Afterlife.
He doesn't need money. He genuinely respects people's right to hold different opinions and respects free speech.
This isn't his first time being attacked by the alphabet community. In fact, the first time was over a joke that mentioned Bruce/Caitlin Jenner at the Golden Globe Awards.
He rails against the faux outrage regularly.
Sounds like a lot of money...to you and me. But billionaires are the new millionaires and the human mind has a way of adapting to circumstances and becoming 'tolerant' and wanting more.
My argument is that he's much more skeptical of the Left and ID politics than he (even now) lets on but doesn't want to completely cut himself off from all future multi-million dollar (or even creative) opportunities.
But really, only (maybe) Ricky Gervais knows. And, (maybe) not even him.
I like how he didn't kiss Jerry Seinfeld's ass in that one documentary with Chris Rock and the public masterbator. Comedy is all about upended expectations and we're sorta used to people being ass kissers and shallow people, I think, at this point.
