First, the only way to prevent politicians from being purchased is to completely ban all campaign contributions, alotting each candidate a certain modest, taxpayer-funded campaign allowance. Second, to have each politician sign a waiver before being sworn into office that, should they pass any legislation or policy that financially benefits them or any family member in any way over the next ten years, they get a one-way ticket to Gitmo.
