They don't assimilate as Freedom loving Americans, they colonate preaching how good their home country is, even send money back over and invest their American money in their home country's businesses. It's lose/lose for us imo.
To me it's the illegal immigrants or legal ones who came as part of chain migration are the ones who have no interest in assimilating into American culture.

Come to The People's Republic of Kalifornia and you'll find a completely different kind of immigrant.
Most immigrants here are illegal and they hate the US except for whatever they can leech out of it.
