My point stands. There is nothing in the history of these people which would prevent the homeowner from killing a group of 3 intruders. Say they had a bad drug deal last week and this was some sort of retribution. How would that play a role in the man’s ability to protect himself within his own home? They broke in, came armed and tried to do harm. In my mind that’s all that matters. Again, let me make my point. The furthering of scrutiny by the law in these particular cases is why people are apprehensive to protect themselves and their property. Hell, if he hadn’t killed them, they could come back and sue the victim. Yet another reason people won’t do what’s right in this world. I’m not advocating for the removal of the grand jury system, but limitations on their scrutiny upon victims. If the man wasn’t arrested for a clear violation of the law then there should be no further investigations. That’s all I’m saying.
Have whatever reason you wish as an excuse for your own demons, no one c ares. But we as a Texas Society will exert care to not assume serious matters.....which is why we send all shoots to the Grand Jury. A Grand Jury is much closer to a jury of your peers than is an LE team investigating something, or media money-shots not describing the story, or a person's knee-jerk desire to dictate.
From the article: “Cops say three Hispanic males in their 20s dressed in dark clothing and armed with a pistol broke into a mobile home shared by two men”
Ok, you’re point there isn’t lost on me. However, the DA would still have to find some sort of probable cause of a crime being committed before the ability to send to a grand jury. This is my problem with sending all shootings over to the populace because some shooters haven’t broken the law. Many states don’t even convene a grand jury except to look at crimes. If Texas law sends all cases involving a shooting to a grand jury then they’ve skipped the step of whether there should even be one in the first place. I’m not arguing why grand juries are necessary, even though they’ve become rubber stamping, “ham sandwich indicting” bodies for the prosecution, but rather non screened citizens shouldn’t be looking at citizens who haven’t committed a crime.
Yes, merry Christmas to you as well.

You don't know any of that, you assume it all.

What exactly did I assume here?
You assumed the corrupt cops have that correct.
