The first gens were killers and a handful. Dentist neighbor had a Gen II and made the mistake of dumping the clutch on chilly morning and ended up sliding the car sideways across his lawn and taking the nose off it against one of his own trees.
Car had made a trench in the process and was beached. He had to leave it there and take his wife's car to get to work to see patients. Never really lived that one down.
I have a lifted Rodeo I use for the salty winter days and when the plows are late getting to our area or on weekends when they just don't plow at all. Bought it for a couple grand to have as a spare winter truck, put knobby tires on it , but the lift was already in it, I think the previous owner simply cranked the adjustment all the way up in the front and then put blocks in the back to match. Maybe a 3" lift?
Believe me the neighborhood snobs hate that old bucket, but I love the 4WD and that torquey 3.2 V6. Just have to watch the oil level, those engines were plagued with oil level sensors that never warned the driver when it was low.
Funny thing is that it has the same 3 speed plus overdrive transmission that was in the Cadillac Allante and some BMWs. Hateful old slush box, but down low in the heavy snow on city streets and dirt roads, who cares.
