One of the reason we can slowly pull away from the Middle East. Unfortunately, still too tied politically to defending Israel and taking Saudi money but that's none if my business I just pay taxes.

Implying that defending allies is a bad thing, nevermind that both Afghanistan and Iraq get more aid then Israel does and South Korea spends more on lobbying.

As for the rest of it, Saudi Arabia accounts for only about 9% of imported oil, which itself accounts for only about 11% of total consumption.

Why is taking Saudi money inherently a bad thing? The problem is the ingratiation.
