We know from records how fast the data was moving :

  • "On the evening of July 5, 2016, 1,976 megabytes of data were downloaded from the DNC’s server. The operation took 87 seconds. This yields a transfer rate of 22.7 megabytes per second."

Do note most internet speeds you see are measure in megaBITS per second.

22.7 megaBYTES per second is 181.6 megaBITS per second.

  • the chance is DNC server had this kind of upload bandwidth is approaching zero
  • the chance a hacker in russia would have this kind of connection to america is approaching zero
  • this looks exactly like the kind of transfer rates you see on a local USB drive

conclusion : there was no hack, it was a leak, it was someone in the building
