I always wanted to learn how to code, but I could never find the time for it since I have two aging parents to take care of. Now that they've gotten a little better, I find myself having some free time to waste on my days off. I want to learn some coding, but I don't know where to begin. Right now, going to a school is kind of out of the question since the car I own is a pos and I don't have the money to get a new one or pay on a loan with all the medicine I have to get for my parents. Are there any good sites to go to that arn't scams or basically shitty training courses like in high school?

Thanks if you can help, guys.

I recommend learning the web languages (HTML, CSS, and JS) since you can build most anything with them

Web pages (obviously) Desktop applications using Electron or the like Browser games Browser based utilities Mobile/Tablet apps using Ionic or the like

Any of the online academy places should be a good place to start. And StackOverflow may become your best friend

Web languages kind of make you feel super powerful since you can make stuff that runs on nearly any device (and a browser isn’t even required if you use Ionic, Electron, and lots of others)

If you want pure game development, check out Unity

Best wishes and God bless whatever you end up doing

No game development. I've seen and heard stories of how bad Game devs are treated.
