This woman will use any excuse to avoid taking the responsibility for care and maintenance of her own body. That's sad.

A person's body weight (and fitness) is the cumulative result of daily decisions over a lifetime. Nothing else matters.

The rewards for deciding to be fit are enormous. After a certain age, a fit person is instantly recognized by others as a person with certain character traits, namely self-discipline and organization. It translates into a little thread of admiration, even attraction.

A person who is aerobically fit enjoys an extra two hours of awake, alert time, every day. This effect can be obtained through one hour of aerobic exercise, twice a week.

A person who practices a strength routine regularly can do more in a day, with greater ease, and more quickly. Later in life, stronger people have less pain in their joints and connective tissue. They keep their ability to move.

The investment of four hours per week, by a person who does not have to do physical work for a living, translates into freedom.

Control of one's eating habits, if successful, leads to confidence and the kind of self-approval that shields a person from depression. There is no substitute for knowing how to make one's own body thrive. The self-knowledge that leads to freedom from helplessness in the face of temptation is a bonus.

All non-cucked doctors know and will state that obesity in men OR women is a serious long-term health risk. The left-wing crazies are actively encouraging potentially life-threatening behavior in the name of political correctness and its ever-expanding (no pun intended) list of "oppressed" minorities. This is partly a racket for professors who get together and think up new micro-disiplines to cash in on the identity politics scam (with grants, articles to "fatten" their CVs, stipends for clown-seminars, etc.).

What you're talking about instead is taking personal responsibility for your own health, not identifying yourself with an imaginary oppressed group and "valorizing" pathological behavior. That sort of sanity is anathema to identity-politicians.

What's next? Cutting Studies? Telling people who mutilate themselves that they're victims of social "stigma" and that they have a right to decorate their bodies with lines of scar tissue? How about Anorexia Studies? The list never ends with the crazies who dominate our universities.

Two professors from Wisconsin...caring what colleagues would think. If there are photos of these two, my money is that neither have seen their feet for a few years AND have no offspring to role model for.

You have two choices: throw your pity party and die by 60 because "fat is beautiful" or put down the donuts and figure out how to walk more than 100 yards and maybe live longer.
