Hey y'all. I'm 36 years old and live with my family in the steaming pile of shit that is California. I have a wife, 1 year old daughter, and a 6 year old son who has downs syndrome.
We need to escape. Our family income is ~$160k and we're barely able to make it. Even worse, the special education services in our district stop at 3rd grade. Looking at state compliance with the Idea act, Comifornia scores a big fat zero.
Your wonderful state however is up at the top of that list. Add to that the cost of living and the vast rural properties that are a short drive from the major towns, and I'm about ready to start packing my bags tonight!
Just wanted to get some info from anyone who lives out there. How are schools overall? Weather? Natural disasters? Gun rights? If you have experience with the special education programs, what do you think?
The move would probably be in around 1 to 2 years, using that time to transition our jobs into full time remote work so we wouldn't even have to worry about switching careers ( my wife and I are around 50% telecommute already, and the companies have roughly agreed to the idea.)
So there it is, convince me to move to the state of house racing and bourbon. And always, MAGA!
