My husband walked into the room and asked me whether I wanted to go with real ID or not: if not, we can't fly or go into a federal bldg, and whatever else. If so, our DLs will have gold stars on them (they already have all the actual control grid stuff) and will cost $25 extra.

I said, we haven't flown since 1996, and have no plans to start now. Nowhere I need or want to go. And as for the federal bldg stuff -- I haven't needed to go into one of those since I don't know when. Pray tell, what do they do if they arrest you for a federal crime? Let me guess -- I bet you can be dragged into a federal courtroom, real ID or no.

So, I said I really don't give a damn -- except, I bet the "undocumented workers" won't have to have real IDs, and they'll still be able to fly and go into any buildings they want -- because no one wants to be raaaaaaaaycist! SO I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! IT'S ALL BULLSHIT! I know, I know: but real ID is about getting a handle on all the illegals, and being able to more easily determine who can be here and who needs to be removed, right?

And I'll believe THAT when I see it, and I know I never will. All any of us WILL see is more and more restrictions on our lives, more and more monitoring, less and less liberty. The people here illegally? They STILL won't be able to do find them! Them and serial killers. We all know this.

And THIS is why there are still people who insist Trump is "one of them". And much as I love the guy -- really, sometimes it's hard to argue with them.
