Some people think it could be light reflections off ice crystals in the sky. But why would they all be red, and if that’s the case, they would have been seen in all cold areas, for as long as electric lighting has existed.
looks kind of like the light you see in a magnetic ferrocell. Maybe there is some kind of magnetic dust or ice in the air at that specific height that is doing something like what happens in the ferrocell. I hope it is aliens though.
That seems like it would create a random dusting effect, rather than a straight beam.
