What I saw was a guy reading...off a teleprompter...that was rehearsed...for and by the very production, directors and producers that Mr. Gervais is insulting. Get your head clean out of your ass because these people fucking hate you.
Potterbear is entirely right. I watched the full seven minute video. Aside from some bleeps of more sexually explicit comments (hairball), that was it. Nothing they haven't done before.
This monologue was almost certainly passed through censors, editors, and producers, and Ricky given permission to read it from the teleprompter. The real "retarded argument" would be claiming that we have an actual ally as the host of the Golden Globes.
The fact of the matter is live television is an incredible controlled environment and with so many moving parts it really has to be in order to deliver a product. Those edits aren’t damage control, they were written by an AD a month earlier and that entire monologue was preformed by Ricky Gervais minimum of three times in the last week. The whole reason for these stupid award ceremonies is to get you to identify with the actors, have the common sense charmed right out of you, fall in love with people who think very little of you and then watch more of their stupid, social engineering propaganda.
