They way I understand this is the Senate has full authority here. The House has held their hearing which is complete, however the Senate has not received paperwork to go forward. So why doesn't the Senate just set a date for the next step in this process (full authority). If the House doesn't show treat it as if no evidence was presented from the House and proceed as the Senate sees fit. Even if that isn't strictly what the law says who cares? Proceed and let the House fight it out in court for the next 30 years at least some of them would be busy with that and not dreaming up new bullshit.

I don't understand the need for this resolution if the Senate has authority. It seems weak like the Senate is saying just kidding we aren't really in charge what hoop would you like us to jump through again Nancy? Plus it limits the Senate power on the next round now they have to wait 25 days after the next impeachment. The House Dem's would have 30 impeachment hearings backed up by then.

No offense to Senator Hawley I appreciate the idea but we don't need slow moving legislation. The Senate just needs to live up to their responsibility and wield the power given to them so they can make the decisions they where elected to make.

I'm not even sure this impeachment hanging in limbo is such a bad thing. It is sort of a catch all for awhile. Just like with Iran when Nancy goes off about President Trump illegal bla bla bla. You can always pull this out and say well if shit is so bad you could always impeach. She can't get much lower but I would call her bluff anyway. We already know she doesn't have anything. If she did she would pull the trigger now and try to smooth things over with Iran.
