I got downvoted in some of the same-day threads for mentioning that his speech was likely written by a staff, approved by editors and producers, and with permission finally entered into a teleprompter for him to read. The motive being to generate controversy and media buzz. (This part worked.)

Too many Trump supporters have bought into the idea we have an ally in that industry and somehow he ended up as host of one of their award shows. That seems very gullible to me.
