Saw the point raised in another thread that settling means no judicial precenent is set. I’m glad Nick is getting a (presumably satisfying) conclusion to this, but it’d be nice to have a ruling to cite for the future. Repeat offenses are inevitable from this lot.
He still has pending lawsuits against some other fakenews organizations. Maybe this settlement has him comfortable enough that no amount of money would be accepted as settlement in the other suits.
I'm hoping. And it's possible it was a lot. Because wouldn't it be in CNNs interest for the amount to be revealed if it was insignificant relative to Nick's original amount?
I mean if they are settling anyways, everyone knows you effectively lost, but the amount directly reveals by how much you were wrong.
So if Nick settled for 200K, if I was CNN I'd want that all over the news over an undisclosed settlement backdropped to his original BillionJillion lawsuit.
