I'm betting they were ratted out to us by more moderate Iranians.

The first night, after they liked salami, they arrested the guy who actually was in charge of the embassy stack. Obama's pal.... Now it's just clean up

My bad I thought they were talking about Iraq.

In Iran, this is just common how things work. The new leader does not want any challenges so he arrests them before they can try anything

Yeah, I thought it was a continuation of the capture of Iranian elements in Iraq by the US forces there too.

Sounds like business as usual in an authoritarian regime. See also N. Korea.

Looking that way quite similar to what has purportedly happened in Saudi Arabia, an internal schism where the more corrupt and deep-state aligned elements are neutralised and the nation itself takes a couple of tentative steps forwards to freedom. And incidentally, both triggered by violence & assassinations, with the vegas shooting/arrests of dopey prince bin salman in the case of SA.

While its impossible to know for sure what the state of play in Iran is, I'm extremely happy that it appears all sides have backed away from that hair-trigger war-within-seconds scenario that was in place for a day or two. So thats an undeniable positive, and if deep state globalists are indeed being supplanted that's also yuge.
