This headline is too long. I realize this now and I apologize

It may not be a brief headline, but it's a true one. Loved Chappelle's Mark Twain prize speech. He's a stand up guy. Saying what needs to be said!

I think Dave and a few others are leading comedy back to the good old days of "anyone/anything is fair game at any moment".

As it should be. Respect the artform, as the man says.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) were attending. They don't seem like people who like free speech of the 2nd amendment. I got the feeling they attended to bilk the government out of some travel expenses and free airplane booze.

Not true. The first also applies to intelligent, polite speech.

Dave Chappelle is the hero we need right now. Listen to his acceptance speech too. He straight up says some people are racist and it's just something you have to deal with. The world is full of people we disagree with. He also says he's worried about the direction were on.

I love Chappelle. He pulls no punches and makes no apologies for who he is. The world needs more Dave Chappelle's.

hmm, I'm beginning to suspect that Chappelle might be more red pilled than I thought he was.

Dave Chappelle was the catalyst for a return of Eddie Murphy. They needed a harbinger to let Eddie's comedy be acceptable again. He was afraid for two reasons...he lost his reputation from the movies he chose...modern society was not ready for his brand of comedy. Chappelle led the way for netflix to give him the deal because he needed to see if shock comedy can still work. Dolemite was great but still not at the top of Murphys comedy. Not because he dropped the ball, but because he was testing the waters. When Eddie comes back for real its gonna be a dagger in the PC cultures heart.

His whole speech was interesting. I wish I could have seen more of the ceremony.
