Always an odd feeling when foreigners show respect more than do haters in our own country.

As a foreigner I've loved and been inspired by everything about America, it's history and it's traditions my entire life. Would give anything to see it some day. Those haters have no clue just how fortunate they really are. Sad

And yet not a mention of this in the leftist media. Reddit is acting as if this is not even happening.

Protesters were calling out those few who DID step on the flags today as Quds secret police. Unlike here, where yelling at police is treated as some sort of a rite of passage, can any sane person doubt how dangerous this is to protesters and their families in Iran?

It was interesting to see the iranian anti US agitators step on the flags as they tried to incite others and they refused and rebuked those that did. The state run agitators lost

Don't get your hopes up pedes!

Iranians are Muslims and Islam is not your friend.

Muslims will "ally" with anyone to kill rival Muslim sects or tribes.

We'll know how civilized these wife-beating, child raping terrorists are AFTER we see what sort of monster they install as their new ayatollah.

While I agree, its still a small step in the right direction.

True, but every change begins with baby steps, it at least gives us some hope in the younger generation.

Before Jimmy Carter refused to help the Shah of Iran, the Shah's country was a major pro-Western ally. The ME was a stable region when the Shah ruled Iran. Sure there were tribal skirmishes btw Sunni and Shites, but nothing significant that affected the production, flow or sale of oil. And certainly terrorism towards the West was mitigated by the Shah. Iran had the largest and strongest military in the ME, so they were the 900# gorilla and as stated above, Iran maintained stability in the ME. Carter's biggest mistakes as Prez was allowing the fall of the Shah, creating the Dept of Education and Dept of Energy.
