Just use a VPN? The internet is bad enough to almost require it nowadays.

Also, what a title! I was like, is this a joke? Should I..? Dare I...? Oh fine, I can't resist seeing what's inside!

You should learn what a VPN is. It will do nothing at all to protect you from this. Zero.

If you're not behind 6 proxies you deserve what you get!

It would give them a false IP, assuming that is what these scripts are seeking.

So a VPN does not mask one's IP address? Why the hell would anybody pay for one then?

All a VPN does is encrypt the traffic between you and the server you VPN into. It will prevent your service provider from viewing that traffic. That is literally all it does.

OP mentions protection against a website grabbing his original IP address. A VPN is absolutely the easiest way to hide your IP from the outside world. Why so excited?

And they also provide additional security if you want it above and beyond encryption, are you sure you know what you're talking about?

And I thought I saw somewhere down there you said they aren't a proxy. That's wrong too - they absolutely are a proxy. You connect to multiple VPN datacenters at once, and your connection to a particular website is seen to originate from those datacenters. It is the job of the VPN provider to forward the traffic along. That's the definition of a proxy.

I wouldn't get so harsh with people, more a sign of an anger issue rather than some deep understanding of the technology. trump2020

Uh, yes it absolutely would.

Using a VPN would mean any attacker would only see your VPN’s IP address, rather than yours. Even if you’re the ONLY person using that VPN it would do a lot to mask geolocation and other info, which can be used to build a profile on you.

Thats fucking retarded. The IP isnt false, it leads right fucking back to you and when they infect your box it doesnt matter anyway, change your IP all day and the C2 traffic is outgoing not incoming. Jesus fucking Christ if you don't know fuck all about security then keep your yap shut so you dont mislead others.
