Speaking from ample personal experience, the bulk of Bernies support is from people in a lot of psychic pain, spiritual poverty, and living lives ensconced in a system they are taught to hate and which makes them unhappy but without which they would die like an infant left on a barren hilltop at night in the winter. They enter the Temple of the Bern and their journey drives them to poverty, insanity, and breakdown. I have witnessed it first hand.
