Always tell those liberal assholes that it's just a rifle. Guns are not for hunting or going against the US Military. The second amendment and every weapon possible, i.e. "arms," are for insurrection by the people against a corrupt government taking away our sovereignty as citizens and owners of our own government.

Anti-gun democraps use the term "assault weapon" which in fact has no meaning.

Assault Rifle is a thing. Technically, an assault rifle is fully automatic (select fire) and uses lower power ammunition than a "full size" rifle cartridge to make the weapon more controllable on full auto using a high capacity magazine.

Assault weapon is anything the anti-gun nut wants it to be, hence the "Assault Rifle" style BS. One could make an argument that the 1860 Henry lever action rifle was the first "Assault Rifle" in an age when automatic loading weapons hadn't really been invented yet.

"If we're willing to consider the assault rifle in its applied role, and not just by an arbitrary definition, then I propose that the first "assault rifle" in application was the 1860 Henry and the first intermediate cartidge was the 44 Henry Rimfire." https://youtu.be/g8KfCKjbIUA

The newly formed US Government had every opportunity to remove weapons from veterans. They chose not to. In fact, no rifle, cannon, nor warship was patriated to the the government.

This alone belies the argument our Founding Fathers "allowed" citizens to keep weapons for any other reason than its a God given right.

This is incorrect. The army has an official definition of assault rifle.

In short it is a selective fire rifle you with an effective range of at least 300 meters. Assault rifles are illegal because to be an assault rifle it must be capable of a fully automatic fire mode.

Assault weapon is the made up term by gun grabbers. A hammer is technically an assault weapon.

Sauce on that "official army definition"? 'Cuz that sounds like BS.

I wanna see a source for your reasoning on why "assault rifles" are illegal, too. If you're referring to the NFA, then there is zero language in it about "assault rifles."

The specification is pretty well known.

Assault Rifles are already illegal because to be an assault rifle you must be able to do selective fire. To do selective fire the weapon must have a fully automatic fire mode.

So the AR-15s civilians can be are not assault rifles. Not all AR-15s are assault rifles. Only military issue M16 and variants would qualify as an assault rifle.

Assault rifles are almost never used in crimes. If someone used an actual assault rifle with full auto the media would scream to high heaven about it.

Soooo...You said "The army has an official definition of assault rifle" You linked me some random website. I see no "army" definition.

That's because there is no definition of "assault rifle" beyond what leftists invent. It's a total fabrication, which is actually the whole point of the article you linked.
