Now this ...is a talking point I can get behind. Well done, pede. Well done.

The sad thing is liberals see this and think "What's $15,000 relative to how much the US has???? Get over it, its insignificant!"

Of course that completely glosses over the fact that being wealthy doesn't make more expensive things cheaper. More expensive things are still more expensive. And more importantly, this doesn't just happen one time with pens, this happens hundreds and thousands of times a day with EVERYTHING, and that adds up. Overpayment here, unnecessarily expensive thing there. It quickly balloons.

They're wasteful with the money because they don't work for it, they have so much of it, and they benefit from overspending on it.

It's literally just a number to them, so if an estimate costs thousands more than it should, they'd rather sign off than do the extra work to get a realistic price (or get a better price with some kick-backs).

My friend in the Navy tells me all the time about how absurdly expensive it is to order mundane items through the government.

A coffee mug is 400 fucking dollars.

The single greatest political achievement that could ever be done, would be to pass a bill that requires normal everyday shit to be bought at local stores near the offices that need them.

Oh the Social Security Adminstration building in New York City needs some new office chairs? Congratulations, send the office manager to Costco and shut the fuck up!

Oh they don't have enough chairs at one store? Congratulations, you have to go to two! And, you're salaried, you don't get overtime :)

I despise that woman. Is she as bad as Hilary Clinton? 'cause I have a burning dislike of her as much as I do that woman.

6
Crockett 6 points ago +6 / -0

I don't know if she's worse than Hillary. But I do hate that people act like she's some sort of heroic genius political wizard. Like, she's catching Trump in some brilliant trap that will be his undoing, when all she's actually doing is being torn between the progressive crazy wing of the party and the corrupt establishment wing, and getting nothing done except successfully corralling democratic votes in congress.

She looks like a skeleton with a tortilla taped to it, and she sounds like an arthritic chihuahua became human. Do democrats lionize her just because she's the only one there? Who else do they have to pretend is a hero? Chuck Schumer, who looks like he's intentionally dressing up as cartoon villain?

Not as bad I don't think, but I'd certainly save a video showing her getting accidentally hit by a bus to my favorites folder.

No it’s not verified cost, it’s a ballpark estimate. The twitter user who posted this is saying in his post thread that he’s waiting for the pen company to confirm cost.

For perspective: Dems crapped on Scott Pruitt’s purchase of 12 fountain pens that cost taxpayers $1,560 ($130 each). Don’t think those were gold plated nor had his customized signature.

Are those things made of fucking gold? How does this guy know it's $15,000? This warrants more investigation. Get off your lazy fucking asses, Hannity, Tucker.

The centrepiece of the deal is a pledge by China to purchase at least an additional $200 billion worth of US farm products and other goods and services over two years, over a baseline of $186 billion in purchases in 2017. The deal would include $50 billion in additional orders for US agricultural products, President Trump said, adding he was confident that US farmers would be able to meet the greater demand. He also said China would buy $40 billion to $50 billion in additional US services, $75 billion more in manufacturing goods, and $50 billion more worth of energy supplies.

At least Nancy didn't spend $60,000 flying pizza and hot dogs to the White House from Chicago.

I think the trade deal is more like $200 billion.

Now I get why she was delaying, she had to wait for her custom order pens to arrive in the mail.

Ingerimm 2 points ago +3 / -1

As much as I enjoy bashing the likes of Pelosi, and believe me there is plenty the woman does wrong, I sincerely doubt these pens cost 15 grand.

If you have credible evidence they do, then by all means, let the slaughter commence. I have yet to see any evidence though.

What we do know, and could happily make the focus of is this:

"“It was unusual to see that kind of ceremony … handing out the pens and smiling for a picture in this kind of kind of situation where the House speaker has bent over backwards to say publicly and privately, ‘this is somber, this is not a time for a celebration.’”

On a silver platter, no less. What a piece of work these politicians "serving" the people are.

Those of you in here downvoting people questioning the legitimacy of the alleged outrageous price per pen are just as bad as the people with TDS.

I am so sickened by their hypocrisy , stocking up, I will go down fighting for these rights...I'm 55 and couldn't give a crap about dying young. I will be on the front lines of this next civil war.

Glad to see our tax dollars go to these ass clown's pen collection. /s

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

I get the rhetoric purpose of calling them bullet pens (maybe?) but those don't look like ammo, cartridges, bullets, etc. It's a bit much.

1
Juratssc_peart 1 point ago +1 / -0

Think of this as an investment. The Dems are betting that these pens will be priceless after they erect their statues of Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler on the Mall. One more way to milk the system....

BIC xtra-smooth are the best pens. Don't waste your money. The only expensive pen I like is the Uniball Vision Elite. They have these dark red and dark purple (almost black) colors that are really nice. Important qualities in a pen: quick dry and smooth writing, with minimal bleed through.

I assume Nancy paid for those pens out of her own pocket...

0
pararocket 0 points ago +1 / -1

This post is incorrect, each pen cost $15,000 as they use solid gold with high karat.

Special ordering these customized pens and waiting for them to arrive is probably the real reason why Pelosi delayed transmitting the impeachment articles to. The Senate.

Can anyone confirm the actual price of these pens?

We (the taxpayers) really spent 15k on those pens? Holy fuckballs.
