If he doesn't fight back against the media...or people don't constantly feel like they're moving forward, people are fkn dumb and will swing back. Why risk being called a 'racist Nazi bigot etc' being fired losing friends and etc for only middling advancement?
It's always a cost benefit analysis and of course people have various issues they care more about than others.
If the cost looks too high, they'll flake off back to the Ds. Don't ask me, though, I'm not doing it...yet. The Democrats haven't changed nearly enough for me to even consider it seriously.
