Hillsdale and hillsdale college in Michigan.

Also the Grand Rapids area is pretty comfy. Could do the rural/suburban areas around Grand Haven to Kalamazoo to the Indiana border. Beautiful beaches. Pretty conservative. Several colleges. Western MI U., K-college.

You could do this all over the Midwest. Ohio, Indiana, etc all have small towns with (some) colleges that aren’t entirely fucked, careful with places like Oberlin though.

Also a really nice “hidden” spot is Shepherdstown West Virginia. Beautiful country. Lots of outdoor shit to do. Great small college town.

Gettysburg Pa and Carlisle Pa are also worth looking into. For all the same reasons listed above.

It’s a big country. Lots of great places left here still... at least for now.

I'm writing all this down!

Love looking at all these little 'overlooked' areas of our country! Esp in Swing State areas where my politics will have a (yknow, minuscule but slightly) larger impact. Was thinking about Yellow Springs and some of Ohio but the lack of public lands really threw me off. This country is sooo massive. never would've thought of an area like grand Haven. Thanks so much for your post.

"It's gold, Jerry! Gold!"

Super happy I made this post now. This makes my day. Oberlin, West Virginia..yeah, yeah, yeah! Very good stuff. My family thanks you!
